Sofas and loveseats. Two and three-seaters, sectionals, barrel sofas.
Choosing Fabric

After
More than recovering. Done properly, the piece comes apart and goes back together better than it arrived.
Stripping down — old fabric, tacks, staples and worn padding removed, back to the bare frame
Frame check — loose joints re-glued, cracked rails repaired, everything made solid before anything goes back on
Springs and webbing — re-tied or replaced where they've given out; this is what makes a piece sit properly
New foam and padding — fresh cushioning matched to how the piece is meant to feel
Tailoring the fabric — cut with attention to grain lines and pattern, fitted, and finished by hand where it matters
Lounge and arm chairs. Teak-framed lounge chairs, wingbacks, tub and scoop chairs.
Dining chairs. Drop-in seats, seat-and-back, fully upholstered sets.
Ottomans, benches and headboards. Box cushions, window seats, buttoned headboards.
You can supply your own or I can source it. Upholstery fabric generally runs $60–$180 per yard, with most projects landing between $80 and $110. Synthetics sit lower, natural fibres like wool sit higher — and the more expensive ones usually wear better.
How much you need depends on the piece. A set of six dining chair seats takes about 2 yards; a three-seat sofa takes 10–14 or more.
How long it takes
Anywhere from a couple of days to about six weeks. A set of drop-in seats turns around quickly; a sofa stripped to the frame with new springs and foam is a different job, and fabric lead times often set the pace rather than the work itself.
