"My chair wobbles" Loose joints, nearly always. A straightforward fix and one that gets worse if you leave it.
"It creaks when I sit down" Dried-out glue in the joints. Early warning — worth catching now.
"The arm has come loose" Usually a failed joint where the arm meets the frame. Repairable.
A lot of mid-century furniture has exposed wood — teak arms, walnut legs, sculpted frames — and after fifty or sixty years it's usually dry, marked or sun-faded. That can be brought back, and on a piece where the wood is part of the design it makes as much difference as new fabric.
